The Rev. E. Walker, agent of the New Zealaud Alliance, addressed a public meeting in the Wesleyan Chapel on the 10th inst., Mr. McCracken presiding. He went over the legislation of the past three years re the control of the liquor traffic, pointing out the benefits already derived, and those expected to ensue from such legislation; and explaining the method of dealing with the voting paper, the use of which would decide the question of the renewal of licenses within the electorate, which voting paper would bo given to every voter at the polling booth, in addition to the ballot paper, which concerned tiie general election, A vote of thanks was accorded the lecturer, on the motion ot Mr. Haines, sen., and to the chair on the motion of the Rev, E. Walker. A small committee was formed to co-operate with oilier districts in the electorate, in view nf the approaching local option pol!.-[Papa-rou Uoi respondent. J
