To-day will bo observed as a holiday by the Government offices, banks, and insurance offices. The Northern Company's steamer VVuiotahi and the 8.3. Alcaroa leave on an excursion to Coromandel at 7 a.m., leaving Coromandel at 8 p.m., enabling visitors to attend the races there. The Devonporb Ferry Company will run a steamer to St. Heliera Bay and the fishing grounds at 10.30 a.m. Races will be held at Papakura, a train leaving the Auckland station at 11.25 a.m. The usual picnic of the Panmuro children will take place under the superintendence of Father Walter. In the evening a grand concert and display of limelight views of scenes in Ireland will ba given in the City Hall, interspersed with musical selections, the Rev. Dr. ifigan being the lecturer. __________
