[bv telegraph.-own CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Monday. A man named Peter darken was to day convicted on two separate charges of supplying liquor to one Win. Reardon, a prohibited person. For the lirst offence he was lined £2, with 9s costs, or in default seven days, and for the second he was fined £4, with £1 costs, or ono month's imprisonment. His Worship the Mayor (Mr. Tlios. Radford) has recoivod a letter from tho Hon. A. J. Cadman, Minister of Railways, in which tho latter suggests that steps should bo taken by tho local School Committees for arranging a railway excursion for the school children of the Thames similar to those given to children in other parts of tho colony. No action has yet been taken in the mattor, bub a meeting of the School Committees will probably bo held shortly to consider the advisability of such a courso. Tho committee of the Foresters' sports to be held here on Easter Monday, met tonighb and decided to extend the time for receiving entries for tho various ovents until Wednesday ab eight p.m. They also decided to allot the gold centre medal presented by Mr. 11. Kohn, of Auckland, to the winner of the mile event, and the medal presented by Mr. John Fuller to tho winner of the mile bicycle consolation race.
