DETERMINED SUICIDE.

Jesterday afternoon it was reported to (unstable Russell, of the Newton police station, by telephone from Dr. Girdler, John Jackson, a labourer, residing in Newton, had attempted abAjb one p.m. to cub his throat witj a pocket - knife. His fajher admitted having done the rash act, aijl asked him to bake him away from the ho|se, and not to tell his mother. J action died last night at the Hospital of his juries. The usual inquest will bo hold today by Dr. Philson, coronor.
