Act, and thanked those who had protested against the disrespeot. Tho executive had intended waiting on the Congress, but had decidod to trust to fchoir own efforts at tho general election and to tho promise of the Government) for its repeal. The Presbytery also discussed the mat ter.and tho advisability of approaching tho Congro's was considered, but oventually all that was dono was to pass a resolution expressing sympathy with the circular of the Freo Church on the matter, and to further determine to take such action as may bo necessary to remove the obnoxious law from tho statuto-book.
