THE WELLINGTON GAS COMPANY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. -PRESS ASSOCIATION,] Wellington, Monday, At the annual meeting of the Gas Company the report, which recommended tho usual dividend of 10 per cent., and that £1900 bo carriod forward, was adopted. Tho chairman announced thab despite the competition of tho olectrio light and the reduction in the price of gas, the recoipts showed an increase for the year. It was, he said, proposed to extond the works, and for this purpose it was intendod to call up £4 per share on 5000, tho last issue of shares, to raoet tho cost. Mr. E. Pearce, chairman, announced that he would shortly mako an extended visib to England and would leave his resignation in tho hands of the Board to deal with as they thought fit.
