ST. JOHN BURLESQUE CO.
On Saturday evening, at the Opera House, the St. John Burlesque Company produced the extravaganza Cinderella," before a large and certainly well pleased audience. Thore was but the thinnest thread of story in the piece. But who looks 'or more than that in an oxtravaganza? What there was proved quite sufficient to lead on from song to dance and from dance to song in a most pleasurable way. Mr. Will Stevens and Mr. Percy St. John created constant fun as the two elder sisters, Mr. Stevong in particular bringing down the house with his "catchy" parodies of well known songs and local " hits." Mr. Fred Cambourno made a good Baron Gormano. Miss Ada Lempriore looked well as Cindoroila, and Mies Dora Buach, who played Bubtoni, the page, sang with a voice raroly heard in burlesque. She established herself a great favourite. Miss Bel Ponsonby as the Prince, and Miss Annie Morton as Dandini looked well, and were both .very successful, the former, especially, putting plenty of life into the part. Little Addie Favart was repeatedly re-called, both for her songs and dances, which wore cleverly executed; and M. Abosaleh in the gunspinning act again proved himself wonderfully clever, and the audience would hardly let him leave the stage. The performance concluded with a tableau of Australia. Cinderella will be repeated this evening.
