TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT.

Wellington, Saturday. The Lawn Tennis Tournament was continued, and finished to-day. The weather was perfect, and the courts very hard. There was a large attendance of tho public during the afternoon. Miss Nunnely had 110 difficulty whatever in annexing the Ladies Championship, and with Miss Trimnell had an easy win in the Ladies' Doubles Championship. Collins and Harman after soino close sets in the final of the Men's Doubles Championship beat the Gore brothers by superior volleying play. Parker beat Hooper in the Men's Singles Championship, playing Hooper's own game of lobbing, adding to it fine drives and smashes. The Wellington mail played a brilliant came throughout. These two players met in the final of tho championship last year at Christchurch, when the Auckland man was victorious. The prizes were presented at the close of tho day's play by the wife of the president of the Wellington Association. The following are tho results of the day's play. Combined Doubles Handicap, bean of three sets; semi-final round : Miss Nunnely and Parker, owe 30, beat Miss lieywood ana P. Marshall, owe 15i, 6—l, 6—l. Miss Greenfield and Goldie. received 15J, beat Miss Marchant and Garsia, received $15, 6-5, 5-6, 6—l. The final round was won by Miss Greenfield and Goldie, 6-3, 6-5. Men's Doubles Handicap, best of three sets: Final round—Parker, Thorndon, and Hooper, Auckland, owe 30, bear Seager and Styche, Christchurch, received 15, 6—3,6—'2, Ladies' Doubles Handicap, best of three sets: Final round— Davy, Auckland, and Greenfield, To Aro, received 15J, beat Misses Nunnely and Kennedy, Thorndon Club, owe 30,6-2,6—2. Ladies' Singles Handicap, best of three sets.—Final round: Miss Nunneley, Wellington, beat Miss Leau, Christchurch, 6—o, 6-1. Men's Double Championship, best of five sets.—Final round : J. W. Collins and R. D. Harman, Christchurch, beat H. Gore and R. Gore, Wellington, 5—6,6-3,6—2, 6—2.
