Anderson and Hookham'a game is unfinished Second round: Mackay and Pearae drew (Philidor's defonce); Edwards defeated Hatberley (Evans declined); Sexton defeated Barness (English opening); Tiominjton defeated Hookham (King's gambit declined); Anderson defeated Meldrnm (Queen's gambit declined); Jlonafc defea ted Pleasants (Queen's gambit; declined); Lelievro defeated Cooks (Queen's pawn^ Tho pairing for to morrow Is as follows Mouat v. Cocks, Meldrnm v. Lelievro, Anderson v. Pearse, Sexton v. Pleasants. Remington v. Barnes, Hookham v. Edwards, McKay v. Hatherloy. Mr. Lclievrd played his (tame with Mr. Meidrum and loss (Queen's gambit declined).
