At 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Te Ron arrived from Loudon direct, with a large cargo of general merchandise. Having explosives on board, the steamer anchored at the powder ground, where that portion of the cargo was transhipped, and the steamer berthed at the Queen-street Wharf in the afternoon, ami the work of discharge was proceeded with next morning. The To ICba on this voyage is under the command of Captain F. Canesc, who will be pleasantly remembered as a fretpient visitor to this port while in command of the company's ship Waimato. Dr. Laiug, au old Auckland resident, comes out as medical officer of the steamer. THE BORROWDALE. Oil Thursday, Nov. 28, the ship Borrowdalc, from Lyttelton, anchored near the Lake landing owing to the wind blowing strong from the south west. The ship sailed from Lyttelton oil the 13th nit., rounding the East Cape on the 17th, and has had nothing but a succession of head winds to thresh up against the whole time. The Norrowdale is an iron ship belonging to Messrs. Nicholson and McUill, of Liverpool, and was built by Messrs. VV. H. Potter and Co., of the same port in 1 SOS, her dimensions being: Length, 2 , 2fi'4 feet; breadth, !!o'4 feet; depth, 22 feet; gross tonnage, 1*277. She sailed from New York on June 15, whith a cargo of American merchandise for Dunedin and Lyttelton, and met with some very rough weather during the voyage. She comes to this port under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company to load general cargo for London, and is to have prompt despatch, it being expected that she will bo ready for «ea iu about three weeks' time. For Sydney: River Hunter, with '251,280 feet; Silver Cloud, 244, feet; Grasmere, 324,700 feet; St. Ril'da, 142,500 feet: Northern Chief, 216,655 feet: total, 1,179,477 feet. For Rockhampton: Anthons, with 112,342 feet; Pirate, 187,60S feet: total, 300,040 feet. Grand total for the month, 2,484,564 feet for all ports, being considerably more than half tho total export of the whole colony, THE TAINUI. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's I steamer Taiuui, Captain Stuart, arrived at I Wellington from London, via way ports, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, her dates being :— London, October 31; TnnerifTe, November 7 i Capetown, November 23: Hobart, December 13. She brings 94 passengers for all ports, 52 packages mails, and 2400 tons nt cargo. At Capetown the Taiuui landed 221 passengers. Two passengers died from phthisis during the voyage. The Tainui left for Wellington in tho evening. THE lONIC. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamer lonic left Wellington on Dec. 12, for London with tho following passengers Dr. and Mrs. Millar and infant, Mr, and Mrs. Wise, Mesdames Arkwright and Gallpin, Misses Wise (2), Millar (2), Bradley, Pillier, Arkwright (2), Messrs. Arkwright, Cummings, Yorke, Masters Millar (3), and 16 steerage Among tho cargo are 285 tons butter and 258 tons cheese. On December 4 the barque Venezuela sailed from the para for Liverpool, with 761,181 feet of sawn and baulk kauri timber, shipped by the Kauri Timber Company. On Dee. 7 the barque Bravo sailed from the Kaipara for Glasgow with 800, feet of sawn kauri timber, shipped by the Kauri Timber Company. THE CANTERBURY. Port Chalmers, December The ship Canterbury, from London (August 28), arrived off the Heads this afternoon for Orders. THE FIFES HIRE. Christciiukch, December 13.— steamer Fifeshiii' was lloated out of the graving dojk at Lyttelton today.
