ENGLAND AND AMERICA.

ATTITUDE OF THE IRISH.

A REDMONDITE DECLARATION.

ANTI-ENGLISH MEETINGS IN CARACAS.

CLEVELAND'S MESSAGE.

A DELIBERATELY PLANNED

MOVE.

SUPPORTED BY TAMMANY HALL. Press Association.Electric Telegraph.—Copyright,

London, December 24. The faculty of the Chicago University strongly support tlio terms of President Cleveland's message re the Venezuelan dispute.

London, December 25.

Mr. John Redmond has cabled to the New York World that in the event of war the Irish would give a solid support to the United States.

New York, December 25.

The New York World declares that President Cleveland planned his present move fully six months ago, which renders his message the more monstrous, and really a crime.

A leading English author has appealed to the American ties of bipod and literature in favour of the maintenance of peace.

Anti-English meetings are being held in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and the enrolment of all males in the country is proceeding.

President Cleveland is reported to have expressed his regret at the possibility of ail outbreak of war being seriously disoussed. Ho thinks it desirable that the boundary commission should hold, a thorough and impartial inquiry. It is probable that Chief Justice Fuller will preside over the commission.

Tammany Hall unanimously supports President Cleveland's action.
