FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

SHOCKING DEATH OP A YOUNG

WO MAM. [by TELEGRAPHPRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednosday. A sad fatal accident happened at Paramata, 16 miles from town, at an early hour this morning. A young girl, Jane Connell, aged 18, had arrived from War.ganui, where her parents reside, and loft by tho midnight train to visit friends at Pahatanui, which is some distance from tho railway station. On reaching Paramata station she saw her uncle on tho platform, and cried " Wait, uncle." Unfortunately the girl did not wait for tho train to stop, and in attempting to alight fell under the train, several carriages passing over her head, which was smashed into pulp, and one arm almost sevored from the body.
