An enquiry was hold to-day by Mr. Charlos Hafoldon, Coroner, into the circumstances attending the destruction by fire of Patrick O'Hara's cottage at Warahoe last week, but after hearing the evidence a verdict was returned to the effect that there was nothing to show how the fire originated. Paeroa, Tuooday, An exceptionally largo number of people loft here to-day for Thames and Auckland, tho coaches being especially crowded. Paoroa and surrounding districts now pre- j sent quite a deserted-looking appoaranco, and as all the mines havo suspended operations for a fortnight, no doubt quietness will reign supremo in the moantime.
