» - MAGISTRATE'S COURT.-Friday. (Before Mr. H. W. Northcroft, S.M.I Judgment SuMMoysKs.-Butclier and Co. (Mr. Burton) v. A. G. Howard, £'J4s, ordered to pay forthwith, in default seven days. Burton and Keesing v. James Mackay, £16 12s, ordered to pay £863 forthwith, in default 14 days. L. D. Nathan and Co. (Mr. Burton) v. James Mackay, £30 6s, ordered to pay forthwith, in default 14 days. Provided the .judgment debtor pay £4 ou the first Mouday in each month till the debt be satisfied, the enforcement of the order will be suspended. , Joshua Gakskd v. Stone Bros, and the Auckland Harbour Board.—Claim £6 I'M 4d for the loss of an apparatus for sprayiug fruit trees. Argument in this matter was continued. Mr. S. Hesketh for Stone Bros. Mr. McVeagh for the Board, and Mr. Brooktield each addressed the Bench on the question as to whom the liability rented— with the Harbour Board or Stone Broa. His Worship reserved judgment. Stamp Act.—The oase against Arthur A. Maxwell and Charles Cowan, charged with having committed a breach of the Stamp Act was adjourned sine die by consent. POLICE COURT.-Friday. [Before Messrs. J. Calluau and Uichard Uily, J.R's.] Larceny.—James Edwards, alias Evans, was charged with the theft of one clock, the property of Mary Paul, and after hearing the evidence of Sarah Paul and Gunner Qnar termaiu, the man was sent to gaol for one month with hard labour. Stray Horses. — James Hay pleaded guilty to having allowed two horses to wander in Vermont-street, on December 15, and a hue of ss, with costs 15s, was inflicted. Obscene Language.— Kor having used obscene language in Victoria-street, on 11th December, a man named Arthur Andrews was sentenced to 14 days' hard labour. Dismissed.—A case in which Margaret Ferguson was charged with having used insulting words to one Juan Corles, in Rokebystreet, ou December 10, was dismissed; the Justices being of opinion that it was a neighbours' quarrel. Theft.— delaHunty was charged with stealing the sum of £3 10s on September 16 last, the property of Joseph Daggett Kelly and WilliamS. Collins, Mr, Collins appeared for the prosecution, and Mr. Dufaur for the defence. After hearing the evidence, a fine of £5, with the option of one month's imprisonment, was imposed. Alleged Larceny,— Edward Alley was remanded for seven days on three charges oi larceny, *
