[B? TBLBGRAPII.—FRKSS ASSOCIATION.] Gisborne, Thursday. The porta in aid of tlio hospital realised £175 including the Government subsidy. CHRi9TcnuROH, Thursday. The weather here is intensely hot, and present appoarances point to its continuance. In the country districts full advantage is being taken of it for haymaking. Dunedin, Thursday. At tho Supreme Court, the cafe Fleming and Gilkeson v. Grigg, claim £4000 damages, was concluded. The jury found that there was sufficient wheat in Canterbury which Fleming and Gilkeson could have bought to replace tho SO,OOO busholfl sold by Mr. Grigg without loss. Tho jury found one farthing damages. A deputation from tho Surplus Labour League waitod on tho Hon. W. P. Reeves to-night requesting the Government to relievo the distress of the unemployed. Mr. lleoves promised to look personally into the matter.
