THE AUCKLAND EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION.
Yksterday afternoon there was a meeting of the executive council of tho above Association, Mr. Graves Aickin, president, occupying tho chair. Mr. bwington, secretary, read the minutes and correspondence. Letters wero received from tho other employers' associations in ths colony, concurring in the attitude of the Auckland Association in regard to non registration. Mr. Abel was re-appointed to represent tho executive on the committee of the Technical School Association. A letter from Mr. Ewington was read by the president, desiring to bo relieved of the secretaryship, but he was unanimously requested t>' withdraw tho letter, and concur in existing arrangements until after the noxt session of Parliament). Allusion was made to tho good effects of employers associations in each centre of the colony, and tho great power their existing organisations would enable them to exert an any trade and labour or legislative emorgency. Mr. Ewington was commended for the trifling expense at which the Association is worked, and ho was requested to get in the annual subscriptions. Mr. Graves Aickin reported upon his services on behalf of tho Association on the Eight Hour! Demonstration committoo. Mr. Aickin and the secretary were requested to draw up a report for the annual meeting, to be held early in the new year ; and the secretary was instructed respecting some correspondence to bo held with tho other employers' associations in tho South.
