MELANCHOLY OCCURRENCE.
[bt tklkqraph.— association.] TiMAnr, Thursday. A W.aTom settlor named McCormick was driving his wife and two small children over the Opihi River, when the trap capsiznd, and the children were swept away. McCormick rescued his wife and ran after tho children. One lodge! on tho Spit, and the other was carried about a mile. When the father got hold of the latter, he was dead. The wife and other child were nearly drowned.
