NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR ROWING ASSOCIATION.
[BY telegraph.-press ASSOCIATION,] Wellington, Wednesday. A special general meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association was held to-night. Mr. A, G. Fell, of Picton, was in the chair. It was made a recommendation to the Picton Regatta Committee that the Championship Regatta for the present season be held during Easter. The secretary was instructed to communicate with the Australasian Rowing Associations suggesting that an intercolonial four oared championship race bo arranged for next season, and that if possible a New Zealand representative crew be sent to compete in the event. It was decided to convene a meeting of delegateßto the Association, to be held at Picton during the next Championship Regatta. The series of resolutions proposed by the Union Rowing Club, Christchurch, were then considered. It was decided, by 35 votes to 6, that rule 14 be amended to provide that every competitor must wear complete clothing from the shoulder to the knees; jerseys must be so arrr.ngcd us to cover the shoulder joint. A sub-corn-mitteo was appointed to re-draft and revise the rules, and also to consider the similarity of colours worn by many of the affiliated clubs. The rule providing that four-oared championships should he rowed with coxswains was retained. Mr. E. Roderique, of the Awarua Boating Club, Bluff, was reinstated as an amateur. It was made an instruction to the Revision Committee to consider the question of future reinstatement as amateurs.
