[B? TKLKOBAPII.—PRKS3 ASSOCIATION.] CwihTCHGKCH, Wednesday. At tho Police Court, to-day, William Hall, described as a farmer, at Brookside, was charged on the information of 0. L. Greenwood, Official Assignee, with having failed to account for several Bums of money, amounting to £64 5s 9J, at the time of his bankruptcy, in March, 1894. Mr. Don nelly, for tho defence, submitted that it wbs necessary, under section 143 of the Act, for the prosecution to put in a certificate from tho Crown prosecutor to the Official Assignee, stating that, there were good grounds for prosecuting the defendant. After discussion, the Bench uphold Mr. Donnelly's objection, and dismissod the case. Dunkdik, Wednesday. At a meeting of tho City Council tonight the Mayor's salary was fixed at £300. In the Supremo Court to-day the case of Fleming and Gilkeson (Invercargill) v. Origg (Long Beach), claim £4000 damages was commenced. The claim arose out of alleged agreement to sell to plaintiff 80,000 bushels of wheat at 2s 6.1 per bushel. Tho oase had not concluded when the Court rose,
