The lecture of Mr. C. E. Jones on "Parliamentary Side Shows," at the Young Men's Christian Association, to-morrow evening, promises to be very interesting, seeing that raoy characteristic sketches, rather than dry historic matter, will make up the bulk of the lecture. "The Rose of Auvergne, or Spoiling the Broth," Offenbach's very pretty one-act opera, which will be produced at next Wednesday's popular concert under the management of Mr. John Fuller, has some very bright music in it, as well as some exceedingly ludicrous situations. This will be preceded by the usual concert. The second term of St. Andrew's College, Commercial and High School for Boys begins on Tuesday next. The principal (Mr. T. Harle Giles) will attend at the college, Lower Symonds-street, this morning, to enrol new pupils. An excellent concert programme has been arranged by Mr. John Biroh to take place at the City Hall to-night. There is no doubt but that a most enjoyable evening is in store for the music-loving public. The second term of St. Andrew's College, Commercial and High School for Boys, opens to-morrow (Tuesday), the 28th inst. A meeting of the Society for carrying on Rescue work in Auckland will be held in the Young Men's Christian Association Rooms tins afternoon. " Yalumba " Tokay.
