Wellington, Thursday. Constable Brown is appointed clerk of the Court at Dargaville. Mr. L. J. Bagnall id appointed member of the Thames Harbour Board.'
The following appointments as registrars of marriages, births, and deaths are Gazetted :—H. G. Greatbach, Whangarei ; A. A bsolum, Dargavilie ; and W. Harrison, Mangapai. J. W. Salmon, Rotorua, is appointed deputy-registrar. The Defence Minister has approved of the name of the " Devenport Torpedo Volunteers" being changed to that of " Devouport Naval Artillery Volunteers." It is notified in the Gazette that cock pheasants and quail may be killed within the Opotiki district, consisting of so rau.'h of counties of East Taupe and Whukatans as lies to the south of the Bangitaiki River, from Ist of May to 31st July, both inclusive ; that native game excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe may be killed within the abovernentioued district from the Ist of April to 31st of July.
