New Zealand Herald Office, Wedndsday evening. To-day Messrs. D. Tonka and Co. offered by auction a property at Otahuhu, consisting of five acres of land and an eight-roomed residence and outbuildings. The property was passed in at £1000, the reserve being £1100. KAURI GUM MARKET. The following is the report of the gum market and ruling quotations, as furnished to us by the committee of gum merchants Poor Ordinary, which comprises'weak and rough-coated pieces, pickings, and washed nuts, ranges trom £20 to £26. Ordinary, meaning hard rough • scraped gum, varying in price according to the quantity of washed cuts, ranges from £28 to £35. Superior ordinary, meaning hard, unpicked range gum, price varying according to size, scraping, and freedom from weak pieces, from £38 to £45. East Coast, £58. . „ . , D , Supplies from the Ist instant to date, 181 tons. There is a good demand for the better sorts of ordinary at full rates.
