[BT TELKaBAPH.—-OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Rahoto\ Tuesday. An inquest was held ab Opunake yesterday respecbing the deabh of George McNeil. Mr. G. W. Gane, J.P., was acting coroner, and Mr. Raikes foreman of bhe jury. The evidence of Mr. and Mrs. De Castro, Donald, brobher of the deceased ; John Toomey, policlf officer stationed at Opunake ; Thomas Hickman, the police officer stationed ab Pungarehu, was taken. The verdicb returned was " Accidenbal death," the deceased having apparently stumbled over a supplejack whilst out shoobing, susbaining a gunshot wound over bhe temple, by means of the right trigger being dofecbive.
