A movement is on foot, we understand, to bestow on Mr. W. C. Ryland a trophy in recognition of his having been the first person bo introduce the science of gun-dog training into the colony. According to the New York Independent, the sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus) is now the most popular of American summer flowers. The enormous quantity of a hundred ton of seed was sold in the United Stabes during last year. Some of the besb coloured varieties are imported from England.
