SEDITIOUS LANGUAGE. Brisbane, April 28. John Smith, an open-air agitator, has been sentenced to nine months' imprisonment at Rockhampton for seditious language. In the course of a speech he re* ferred bo "that sauerkraut old brat, the Queen," - and asserted that if he had his way he would blow her sky high. THE MARINE CONFERENCE. HoiiART, April 26. The Marine Conference has decided that each colony shall in future only issue two grades of certificates, foreign and coasting, the vessels to have marked upon their sides fresh as well as salt water lines. A CHARGE OF CONSPIRACY. Melbourne, April 26. Macredie, of the firm of Macredie, Drew, and Co., has been committed for trial on a charge of conspiring to defraud a Parisian firm. THE BARRABA MURDER. Sydney, April 26. . The police hare arrested Alexander Lee, mate of Cummings, on the charge of being concerned in the Barraba murder. At the camp of the accused they found a quantity of evidence against them. Lee first pretended he was mad, and afterwards protested his innocence of the crime. There is evidence that the men cut steaks off the horses to satisfy their hunger. !
