MISS BESSIE DOYLE.
Thk return of Mls3 Bessie Doyle to Auelcand will be a welcome announcement bo the musical enthusiasts of this city. No artist, and more especially a stranger, except in name, ever made a more immediate or bating impression, loss through Miss Doyle's personal charms than by the incomparable*charm of her ability as a violinists. For one in the prime of youth her power and mastery over the king of instruments is already great, and with years and the contunt and laborious study and practice to which she devotes most of her days, she should outrival even the greatest geniuies of the bow. Without a patron to bring hor forward, Miss Doyle has by sheer ability come into the front rank of violinists, and being true to her art, and to her ambition, she will assuredly keep there. The farewell concert to be given at the City Hall on Monday next will take the form of a demonstration by the musical societies of the city. The concert is under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor and suite, the Mayor, Mr. J. J. Holland, the town councillors, and many distinguished citizens and music-loving patrons.. The programme will comprise many compositions from Miss Doyle's extensive repertoire, which have nob yet been given by her in Auckland, and she will be supported by a combination of talent. The full programme will be shortly announced. Should Miss Doyle arrive in time, it has been arranged to tender her a public reception at the City Hall. . ,"■
