THE CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW.
The exhibition by the Auckland Chrysanthemum Society has now become an annual event, and from year to year it has grown in importance, owing to the devoted interest which has been exhibited by the leading florists, and the great attractions of the show itself. To-day the exhibition will bo opened in the Choral Hall, at four o'clock, by His Worship the Mayor. The exhibition, we are informed, will in many respects bo superior to any that have yet been held in Auckland. The weather has been all that horticulturists could desire, and the blooms have fully come up to promise. There will be plenty of competition. The show will contain a large and excellently assorted collection of exhibits from Cambridge, among the principal exhibitors being Messrs. T. Wells and M. Macdermott. Before being sent to town the blooms were inspected by a large number of Cambridge residents at the residence of Mr. Wells. They were very much admired, und it is confidently anticipated that in the competitions the Cambridge growers will run the Aucklanders very close.
