[BT sklbqba?h.— press ASSOCIATION.) Christohdrch, Tuesday. At a meeting re the unemployed to-night it was resolved " That in the opinion of this meeting it is the duty of the Government to subsidise local bodies for the purpose of finding employment during tho present distress in accordance with innumerable precedents, and in the manner suggested by the meeting last week, namely, by a £ for £ subsidy to local bodies."
