FASHIONABLE WEDDING AT REMUERA.
O.vE of the prettiest and most fashionable weddings ever seen in Auckland took place at St. Mark's Church, Remuera, yesterday afternoon. The bride was Miss Christina Campbell Hardie, eldest daughter of Mr. James Hardie (Messrs. Porter and Co.), Linton, Remuera, and the bridegroom Mr. Ernest Henry Clayton, formerly of Auckland, but now of Sydney, brother of Mrs. Alfred Nathan, of this city. A quarter to two was the hour fixed for the service, but long before that time a large crowd of interested sight-seers had collected. The church had been very tastefully decorated by a number of the bride's friends for the occasion, and looked very bright. The bride looked charming, being attired in a rich white corded silk, trimmed with Brussels lace, orange blossoms, and pearl trimmings. She was given way by her father The bridesmaids were the MissesClnudiaand Isabel Hardie, sisters of the bride, Miss Rosie Claytou and Miss Roi Nathan. Masters Lionel Hardie and Harold Nathan acted as pages. Mr. A. N. Gibbons officiated as best man. The service was choral, the Rev. I. Richards conducting Among those present in the church were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nathan, Mr. and Mrs. E. Porter, Mir. and Mrs. Hesketh, and hosts of other friends of the bride and bridegroom. The scene outside the church after the service was a very attractive one. From the door of the church to the roadway were crowds of onlookers, and when the happy pair drove through they were greeted with showers of rice. The party drove to the residence of the bride's parents, where breakfast was partaken of. The health of the bride and bridegroom was drunk prior to their leaving to catch the Mararoa, by which boat they proceeded to Sydney. The bride was the recipient of some very handsome presents from her numerous friends. The gift of the bridegroom was a very handsome necklace, representing a true lover's knot set in pearls.
