Meeting to-day the following was the result of The Summer Cup of 20sovs each, with 1000 sovs added; second, 200sovs; third, 100 sovs. One mile and a-half. Jeweller, 9st 51b 1 Stanmore, Bst 2 Confidence, 7st 3 Nineteen horses ran. Jeweller won by half-a-length- Time, 2m. 37is. THE HOPETOUN CUP. Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.— Melbourne, December 26. At the V.A.T.C. Meeting to-day the following was the result of The Hopetoun Cop of 200sovs. One mile and three furlongs. Mr. A. S. Chirnside's b h Els wick, 4yrs, by Nordenfeldt — 1 Mr. W. S. Hickenbotham's b h Comedian, 6yrs ... ... 2 Mr. J. Redfearn's b h Marco, 4ys 3 Thirteen horses started. Elswick won by a length. Time, 2m. 27£s. [Els wick, the winner of the above race, was bred by Mr. T. Morrin.at Wellington Park.]
