AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S SUMMER
MEETING. By the s.s. Rotohamana, which arrived last night, the racehorses Rosefeldt, Waterbury, and Brigand were brought up to fulfil their engagements at the A.R.C. Meeting. Very little ; wagering_ is being transacted on the Cup. Rosefeldt is quoted favourite at 3 to ]. , _~ After many applications to the Railway Department to reduce the return fare to Ellerslie from Is (id to Is, the A.R.C. have at last prevailed upon the Commissioners ; they on tlieir part agreeing to reduce the charge of admission to the course to Is. Instead of racegoers, therefore, having to pay 3s ud for rail fare and admission to the course they will be enabled to now do the trip for 2s. A Press Association wire from Dunedin last liljcht states that Mr. Reid's horses. Dilemma and Skirmisher, in charge of McGuinness, were shipped to Auckland by the s.s. Wairarapa, winch left Auckland yesterday. McGrath has been engaged to rule them in their engagements.
