PAHIATUA. Messrs. Abraham and Williams' report at their Pahiatu stock sale all classes of stock were well represented. Store cattle showed a decline of 7s 6d to 10s per head. Dairy stock was also much easier, but beef was about equal to last sale's rates, best quality making 20s; inferior, 17s (3d per 1001b. Sheep are coming in fast, and a slight fall in price was noticeable. In grass seeds, we sold a few parcels cocksfoot from 2d to 3d ; local rye, 2s 6d. Beef bullocks, to £7 ; cows, £5 10s; store bullocks, £5 10s; store cows and heifers, 65s to 755; dairy stocks, £4 to £6; young steers, 50s to 60s; yearlings, 40s tosos; sheep: wethers, lis to 13s; ewes and lambs, 10s 6d to 12s 6d; hoggets, best, lis 6d: medium and culls, 5s to Ss 6d. ELTHAM AND HAWERA. Messrs. !Noi!an, Tonics, and Co. report, Hawera, Oetober 13:—At Eltham on the 9th instant the yards were well filled with useful cattle. There was very little spirit in the sale, and prices were a shade lower. At Hawcra, on the 12th instant, considerably more stock than advertised came forward. Prices for both cattle and sheep were easier than have been for some time past, yet we succeeded in placing most of those entered. We quote; Weaners, 35s to 40s; yearlings, mixed sexes, 50s to 53s Cd ; yearling steers, 55s ; 12 to 18-months steers, £2 17s 6d to £3 2s 6d; 18-months steers, £3 4s; two-year steers, £3 10s to £3 15s; two to two and ahalf year, steers, £4 5s to £4 10s; two and ahalf to three-year steers, £4 15s; fat cows, £5 to £6; store cows, £3 5s to £3 10s; springins; heifers, £3 17s to £5 2s 6d ; dairy cows, £5 10s to £7; two-year heifers, £3 2s to £3 ss; two and a-half-year heifers, £3 10s. Sheep : Hoggets, 10s to lis 8d; culls, 5s 6d to 8s; store wethers, 12s to 13s; fat wethers, 14s to 14s 6d ; ewes and lambs, 10s 3d to 13s. KAPONGA AND MANAIA. Messrs. Budge and Good's Report.— At Kaponga, on the 6th instant, there was a large entry of dairy stock, which did not sell so freely as usual, but in other classes anything or fair quality sold readily at the hammer. At the Manaia fortnightly sale of (the 10th the yards were well filled with both sheep and cattle. Sheep were dull of sale, but the bidding was brisk for all classes of steers of good quality, also. for springing heifers' or good dairy cows. We quote at Kaponga: 18-months steers, £3 lis; 12-months-old, £2 8s to £2 17s; 2-year-old heifers, £3 3s to £3 lis; store cows, £3 10s to £3 17s 6d ; quiet heifers, springing, £4 to £5 ss; dairy cows near their profit, £5 to £5 7s; fat cows, £4 15s to £5 12s 6d. At Manaia, we quote: 2J-year steers, £4145; 18-months to 2-year-old. £3 17s to £4; year-old steers, £4 to £4 8s 6d ; 15-months steers, £3 48 to £3 83 6d ; mixed, 12 to 18-months, £3 8s 6d; yearlings, £2 12s 6d to £217s 6d; yearling heifers, £2 6s to £2 9s; calves, £1 10s to £2 Is; store cows, £3 lis to £4; 2-year-old heifers, £3 2s to £3 lis; dairy heifers, springing, £4 15s to £5 7s 6d; cows, up to £7; ,fat cows, £415s to £5 12s 6d : bullocks, light weights, £6 5s to £6 Bs.
