[BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Sunday. A man, Richard Coyne, a carpenter, and member of a local volunteer corps, has beea arrested on a charge of stabbing with a bayonet a man named Woodward, a labourer. The accused alleges he was assaulted by Woodward and another, who followed him home, and that betook up the bayonet in self-defence to frighten his assailants. Woodward and his friend have also been arrested on a charge of assaulting Coyne. _____________ —^__
