Mr. R. Arthur's Weekly Report.— Potatoes quieter and an easier market. It is very difficult to say what the result will be. There has not been that demand for Hobart seed as was anticipated; the season being so late there may yet be more required. Early seed potatoes very scarce. Onions quiet; samples inferior. Carrots : Stock light. Pumpkins: None to hand. Grain in fair demand. Maize very scarce, none on hand. Fresh butter in better demand in some of the best brands a slight advance. Corned butter very quiet. Fresh eggs: A fair demand at advanced rates. Bacon and hams have gone off freely at late prices. Cheese : Short supply; prices high. Honey : All to hand sold readily. Fruit: Only lemons entered. These have gone off more freely, at a little better prices. Poultry: A large supply of fowls, turkeys, and ducks; prices to-day rather lower. No geese entered. Small pigs brought good prices. Fowls sold at Is 5d to 3s 4d each fancy fowls, 3s Id to 7s 6d each; young turkey gobblers, 3s Id to 4s 6d : hens, 3s to 3s 6d ; hen and chicks, 4s 3d; ducks, Is 8d to 2s 4d; small pigs, 5s 6d to 18s ; fresh-laid eggs, 6rl to 7d per dozen; fresh butter, B£d to ll|d; corned, 4d to;6d; bacon, sides, 6d to 7d; shoulders, 4cl to 4^d; hams, 6d to 8d ; lard, in small tins, 44d to sd; cheese, 4d to 6d; honey, 3d per lb; Picton herrings, 9s per case, 3s 3d per box. Messrs. Esam and Arthur's Weekly Report.—Alterations in produce values are unimportant. We have disposed of a considerable quantity of Southern potatoes at an average of £5 15a ex store. The market, although apparently firm, is in a delicate condition, notwithstanding the opinion cf consignors that prices are likely to advance. Waikatos continue to come forward in small lots, and realise £5 to £5 ss; other varieties in' too limited quantities to quote. Maize continues scarce, shipments being small; 2sßdex wharf, wholesale ; 3s to 3s 3d ex store. Oats are plentiful, and sales not easy to make prime short. 2"? 6d to 2s 7d ; medium, 2s 3id to 2* 4\d. Fowl wheat, demand not so brisk as last week ; 2s lOd to 3s. Bran, £3 10s; sharps, £3 10s. Onions scarce at lid to lgd, and 2d to 2id for Californians. Fresh butter : Prime in more restricted supply ; sales 10Jd to 11 id ; No. 2, 6|d to 7*d ; keg sorts realise according to condition any price lrom 3d to 7d. Cheese : Factory made. 6d to 6^l; dairy, 4sd to s}d. Eggs : Hen, 6kl to 7£d ; duck, 8d to 9d. Bacon : Prime, 6d to ; medium, ] 4id to sid. Hams: 9d to lid for No. 1; medium, to 7d. Fruit market very bare; supplies so small that prices need not be quoted. Poultry : Supplies also small, whilst ! the demand was keen. Mr. Alex, aitken's Market Report.— Business during the week has been fairly active in all lines, the lines commanding most attention being fresh butter and eggs.
