Press Association.—EleetricTelegraph.— THE PAY OF MARINE ENGINEERS.
Sydney, September 13. The shipowners have submitted proSosals to the Engineers' Conference at felbourne, that, instead of the wages existing at present, a new scale be introduced, allowing £IG, £18, or £20 per month to chief engineers, and £13, £14, or £15 to second engineers. It is believed the engineers are ready to accept reductions to the amounts prevailing before the maritime strike of 1890.

Sydney, September 13... The Associated Colliery Proprietors have decided to terminate the existing agreement with the colliers at the end of the year. A renewal of the agree - ment will mean a further reduction in wage,3 all round.
