MrILBOrjRN'K, August 30. - The Legislative Assembly passed a primage duty of one per cent, on all goods imported, with certain exceptions.

From returns presented to the Legislative Council, it appeal's that 11G3 companies were registered between 1887 and 1.893, the paid-up capital of which aggregated twenty-eight and a-half millions. Of these, 397 are now defunct. Their paid-up capital was nine and a-half millions.
