[BV TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] Christohukcu, Wednesday. i'hk Prohibitionists sent a telegram asking whether, as the Resident Magistrate hid convicted the licensee of one of the Sydenham hotels tor illegally selling liquor, the police would be instructed to clo-e the Sydenham hotels without a legal license in terms of Judge Dennisbon's decision. A reply has been received from the Commissioner of Police stating that it v as understood there was an appeal against the magistrate's decision, and if so the police would take no action till the master was finally settled. Sir R. Stout has promised the Prohibitionists to bring the matter before the House.
