CLAIM FOR TRAVELLING EXPENSES.

[BY TKI.KGRAPII. — PKKSS ASSOCIATION.] Westport, Tuesday. Mr. R. Reeves, who is a member of the local Harbour Board, sued for £72 odd for travelling expenses, being at the Irate of one guinea per day, nine days each month, in travelling from and to Nelson bo attend the Board's meetings. Judgment was given for £69, £1 a day exclusive of coach fare. The action was brought in consequenco of the Audit Office having refused to pass any amount except couch fare. Mr. Guinness, M.H.R., appeared for the plaintiff.

It will be seen from a District Order elsewhere that Lieutenant-Colonel Dignan, New Zealand Volunteers, will command the Auckland Volunteer District from this date, during the absence of Lieutenant-Colonel Goring, who has been granted six months leave of absence.
