BRITISH WARSHIP ORDERED TO

TUTUIIA

THE POWERS AND SAMOA. Prut AuoeicUion.—SUetrie Telegraph.—

Sydney, November 18. When the Lubeck left Samoa H.M.S. Ringarooina had been ordered to the scene of conflict in the island of Tutuila.

It is reported that between fifty and sixty natives were killed during the hostilities, but the news lacked confirmation. Another explanation of the dispute is that the Roman Catholic and Protestant natives are making a religious war of it.

Berlin, November 17. TheVossische Zeitung says that the United States have recognised that either Germany or England must possess Samoa.
