VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

FONSONBY NAVAL'S BNOAMPMBNT. The members of the Ponsonby Naval Artillery went into camp last night for a fortnight's drill, and about 50 men proceeded to the North Shore, under the command of Captain Miller, by the twenty minutes to eight boat. The camping ground is the same as that occupied last year, near the base of Fort Cautley, and a fatigue party, which had been over during the day, had ten erected and bedding straw provided. No actual work was done last night, except to post the men to their tents and mount guards. To-day the steady work will commence, as the men will have an afternoon's drill at the 8-inch guns at Fort Cautley, and the torpedo detachment will be drilled in submarine mining under the instructing officers of the fort. To-morrow there will be a church parade to Holy Trinity Churoh, where the Rev. J. Bates will preach. The great advantage of the arrangement now made is that the men will have three Saturday afternoons at the big gins and torpedos in addition to the night drills and morning exercises. The Garrison Band played the company to the wharf last night, and they will perform selections at the camp during Sunday afternoons. Before the break up of the camp there will be shot and shell practice from the fori) guns.
