Crossby Brothers, Manchester,— You may, perhaps, be glad to hear of the satisfactory results we have obtained from your " E" size engine, which we have had running at the Trades Exhibition, Bingley Hall. We have been supplying current equivalent to 95, 16 c.p. lamps from this engine; and as it i» running some 20 or 25 revolutions below its normal speed we have no hesitation in saying that you considerably underrate its capabilities in your statee°!i|WHiSrdvt° the wtuai horse-power it will develop. We may also mention that the gas pressure on which the engine is running is none too constant; notwlthstand,ing on the most sensitive vol meSr there is hardly an appreciable movement J ti,f ? needle within 100 and 100?, volts n \v e have X supplied-gas engines of other makes fo'r dec. -triad installations at various times, but St admit .we have never been able to 0 {™?» '* such results^ as given above,-!*.
