Fraser has accepted the seat formerly held by Mr. W. F. Wheeler. Mr. E. Pearce, the third nominated member, has accepted reappoint ment. A meeting is to be held during the week, at which it is expected Wednesday afternoon will be fixed as the general halfholiday. It was thought by some of the employers that closing from one to six p.m. on Saturday would meet the Act, but law officers of the Crown advise to the contrary. The Hon. The principal drapery firms in Dunedin have agreed to close on Saturday.
