THE WARRIMOO.

I The splendid new steamer Warrimoo, the first steamer of the New Zealand and Australasian Steamship Company, which is to inaugurate the new service between Mew Zealand and the Australian colonies, is due here today from Sydney, having left there on Saturday morning last. Considerable interest is being shown in the advent of the new line, as the Warrimoo is stated to be something above the ordinary run of steamers that have visited our port. The fact that she broke the record in her passage from London to Sydney proves that she possesses the speed necessary to fulfil the expectations chat have been raised regarding her in the minds of residents here. Messrs L. D. Nathan and Company, the local agents of the line, have arranged that the steamer will be thrown open for public inspection during her stay here, and no doubt those interested in the latest specimen of marine architecture that has been turned out in the ship building yards at Borne for the colonial trade will gladly avail themselves of the opportunity offered them to view the vessel. The stay of the Warrimoo heranvill be brief, as she is timed to leave for the South and Melbourne to-morrow, in order to give those who are desirous of witnessing the race for the Melbourne Cup the opportunity 6f so doing. Already a largo number of passengers have booked for the trip, and as she has quite a number of through passengers, it is advisable for those who are intending to make the trip to secure their passages at once. The Warrimoo is to leave Melbourne for Hobart, the Bluff, and other New Zealand ports on November 8, and will proceed on to Sydney on arrival here.
