GISBORNE RACKS. [bt TELEGRAPH. correspondent.) , Gisbornk, Thursday. The Gisborne Park Steeplechase Meeting took place to-day. The weather was good. There was a large attendance. The following are the results :—
Winter Oats. — Stockfish, 1 ; Hurricane, 2; New York, 3. Won by half a length. Dividend, £6 17k. ■ 6
Hurdle Race. — Marcaroni, 1; Criminal, 2; Herbert,;!. Won by a length. Dividend, £7 (is. Steeplechase.—Duadine, 1 ; Geo, 2. Herbert and Pirate also ran. Only two horses finished. Dividend, £2 l(is. Final Handicap. — Truthful, 1; Stockfish, 2; Ilukatere, 8 This was a splendid lace, and was won only on the post. Dividend, £4 i(is. The sum of £147S was invested through the totalisator.
The New Zealand Trotting Association, at their annual meeting at Cnristchtlich, appointed Mr. H. M ell wraith president. It was decided that the powers of Metropolitan Clubs shall continue in force until a special meeting is held to consider the proposed amendment in the rules. Instructions were given to the executive committee to call for properly- audited balance - sheets from all clubs before passing their programmes.
