MURDERS IN THE EAST PACIFIC.
The Sydney papers state that a report reached New Britain before the Lord of the Isles sailed for Sydney that three missionaries in German New Guinea had been murdered by natives. No particulars were obtainable, and the steamer that brought the news to New Britain gave the intelligence as an utiauthenticated rumour in circulation at Frederick Wilhelm Haven before she left. Another white trader has been murdered by the blacks on the north coast of New Ireland. The man's name is given as Alexander Gundersen, in charge of a store. The natives made a raid on the placo, killed Gundersen, and sob fire to the building. The magistrate at New Britain had gone to investigate the affair, and punish the murderers, if possible. Two of tho crew of the schooner Glide were murdered by natives at. New Hanover. The Glide was lately purchased at Sydney for Mrs. Forsaith, of Ivalune, New Britain. She left here in charge of Captain Stulio, and made a good passage up to New Britain. While trading at New Hanover tho boat was sent ashore, but was seized by natives and rim on a reef. All the trade in the boat was looted, and two of the crew, Solomon Islanders, wore killed.
