A MYSTERIOUS BANK ROBBERY.

In October, 1889, ft mysterious robbery was committed at the Woolongabba branch of the Queensland National Bank, £3800 being abstracted from the safe, £1500 in gold and the remainder in notes." Not the slightest clue had been obtained in connection with the robbery until Thursday, when a labourer, repairing a bridge on the Toowong Road, near Brisbane, came across a number of rolls of notes to, the value of about £1000, which are proved to be a portion of those stolen. The robber, or robbers, had apparently, in their hurry, due a hole about a foot deep . underneath the bridge, thrown the notes in, and refilled the whole with clay. They evidently had been buried there ever since the robbery, and were almost reduced to pulp.
