Pxesse, Secretary of the Gisborne 1 Building Society, left for Auckland on the j 13th inst., snd not returning when ex- j pected, an examination of his accounts < showed a deficiency of £310. Ib is thought | that Piesse proceeded to San Francisco by t the last boat, as he was seen on board tho steamer at Auckland.
