Ten teams competed for the prizes offered by Lord Lindsay at the Rifle Association meeting at Bisley. The first prize fell to the Ayrshire YeomanrYj who scored 131 points. The Victorian Mounted Rifle team, which came second with 105 points, rode the course in 26sec. faster than any other team in the competition. The riding and jumping of the Victorians were greatly applauded. e A MLGRIM FATHER, Amsterdam, July 24. A tablet has been unveiled at Lerg"flen, in memory of the Rev. Mr. Robinson, one of the pastors who accompanied the Pilgrim Fathers to America. The ceremony was a most impressive one, and the "national anthems of Holland, England, and the United States were played. Among those present was Dr. Roseby, one of the Australian delegates to the Congregational Conference in England. THE CANADIAN TARIFF. Ottawa, July 25. Mr. Howard Vincent, a member of the English House of Commons, has had an interview with fifty members of the Dominion Parliament respecting preferential duties on British goods imported into Canada. The, result of the conference has not yet been made public.
