LICENSING COMMITTEES.

. ONEHUNGA. TnE Onohunga Licensing Committee met at the Police Court, Onehunga, at noon, yesterday, . Present; Messrs. D, Neilson (chairman), R. Webb, G. J. Jackson, Fergus, Keshan; and Enoch Burden, Mr. Hutchison (clerk to the committee), and Sergeant Greene attended the meeting. Applications for renewals were received, and the police report being favourable, renewals were granted as follow:—Hibernian Hotel, R. Ternahan ; Victoria Hotel, M. Cullen; Railway Terminus Hotel, M. Edgar; Prince Alfred Hotel, John Lloyd; Manukau Hotel, \V; A. Waterman; "Exchange Hotel, Mrs. B. Evans. An application for a transfer of the license of the Royal Hotel from John Gobbie to Mrs. L. Evans was gran ted.

Dunedik, Thursday. It is understood that the City Licensing Bench has decided to close seven houses forthwith, five others during the current, year, and another five twelve months afterwards, a?.

The Christchurclx-' bouth-wesfc LicensingCommittee met to-day, when all the applif cations for renewals were granted, tvith the exception of the White Horse, owing to complaints of Sunday trading. The Shades, to enable sanitary works to be carried out, was adjourned to the 16th. Oamarp, Thursday. All the licenses in the Waiareki attd Papakaia districts have been granted afresh.

Blenheim, Thursday. The licensing committee yesterday granted renewals of all licenses, but cautioned the police to see that Sunday trading is put a stop to. At the Awatere licensing meeting to-day the chairman alluded to the shocking quality of the liquor supplied in some country houses, and suggested that the police should have it analysed occasionally. Sydenham, Thursday. The licensing committee, met yesterday, and adjourned for a week, pending a judgment of the Supreme Court in which they aro interested. In the South-east Ward a majority of the licenses were renewed, and the consideration of others adjourned on account of convictions for Sunday trading. Kaiapoi, Thursday. At the licensing election four moderates and one prohibitionist were returned. Hjsisos, Thursday. At the meeting of the licensing committee to-day all the licenses were renewed for eleven o'clock.
