The adjourned meeting of the Katikati Road Board and the animal meeting of ratepayers took place on Saturday last, within the Board-room, Uretara. George Vesey Stewart, Esq., J.P., was appointed chairman for the ensuing year. The treasurer (Captain Macmillau) stated, that he had received by that day's mail the balance-sheet for the year ended 31st March, 1891, and read the following letter:—" Audit Office, Wollington, 9th May, 1891. Sir.—l have the honour to return herewith the balance-sheet of the Katikati Road Board for the yeat- ended 31st March, 1891, which I have certified.—l have the honour to be, sir, your obedient servant, James Edmond Fitzgerald, Controller and Auditor-General)" The balance-sheet haying been read and adopted, Captain Maemillan moved, " That Mr. James Boyd be appointed engineer to the Bcrd." The motion, having been seconded by Mr. Andrews, was carried unanimously. The funds were agreed to be spent in repairs to the following roads :— Road leading to Mount Stewart Cottage, road leading to Mount Stewart, road leading to Woodlands, road leading to bush reserve, road leading to Mr. Carsewell'is, road leading to Mr. Wilson's; road leading to Mr. Andrews', road leading to Mr. McClure's.
